An elegant pair of late 19th century French dore bronze candlesticks, beautifully cast with a richly detailed grapevine motif that reflects the exceptional decorative artistry of the period. The finely chased bronze retains much of its original dore finish, now complemented by a warm, naturally developed patina that enhances the character and authenticity of the pair.

Each candlestick is adorned with 11 original crystal prisms, for a total of 22, creating a graceful play of light while preserving their original decorative design. They also retain their original bobeches, a desirable feature that speaks to the completeness of the set.

The intricate grape and vine decoration lends depth and movement to the bronze, making these candlesticks equally striking whether displayed on a mantel, dining table or console. While the dore has mellowed over time, careful cleaning would reveal even more of the original gilded surface, though many collectors appreciate the beautifully aged patina as it exists today.

A pair of early 19th century Sheffield plate candles. Original bow bashes with metal bottoms instead of wood are two inches from corner to corner. In very good condition without any dings. Circa 1820s, English look to be Adams style, very pretty.
